BAABES is a relatively new garage rock band from the United States having formed in 2017 with this being the band’s eponymous debut release.

Hailing from Boston, it seems like BAABES has been styled as The Ramones for the new generation with the songs being short, loud and bass and riff heavy. The lyrics are aggressive, and the delivery is in your face as the band quickly says what it wants to say and then straight on to the next topic. No extended songs or flashy showmanship here as this is garage rock where less definitely means more! The guitar is intense and distorted with Frankie Sinn riffing for his life and Glam Deez pays homage to Dee Dee with his punching bass and the sinister sounding Pennywize keeps all churning onwards with fierce drums over which the strident vocals of Jonny Brain Box command your immediate attention.

BAABES live life fast and this short, sharp album is best enjoyed at maximum volume.
