Blackslash is a German heavy metal band which was formed back in 2007 in Donaueschingen in the Black Forest. No Steel No Future is now the band’s fourth album and, interestingly, they still have the same line-up which is pretty neat these days with Clemens Haas on vocals, Christian Haas and Daniel Hölderle on guitars, Alec Trojan on bass and David Hofmeier on drums.

Backslash is another of those old school hard rock bands built around the gorgeous sounds of the ’70s especially the twin pronged guitar attack of bands like, Thin Lizzy early Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. You can then add in elements of Bonfire, Mad Max and Brainstorm to make a pleasing and most melodic hard rock that ticks all of the right boxes; the band has a style and a sound which works for them so why mess with a system that works?

Clemens Haas is a great frontman with a controlled and hard hitting delivery and the two guitarists lay down a real wall of sound with copious riffs and solos to satisfy all of your heavy metal head banging needs. Great songs that punch hard with riffs that thrill all combine to make Backslash one of those perfect bands to get festival crowds up on their feet and they will also be perfect in those intimate venues where band and audience become almost as one.
