This EP features four great tracks of NWOBHM inspired hard rock very much of the type associated with Diamond Head, Praying Mantis and Tokyo Blade. Perfect hard and fast delivered vocals over piercing guitars and a wall of thunderous drums mean this could have been recorded anytime in the last 40 years or so and the band sounds just so English that I was taken aback when delving a little deeper to see that the band is actually Slovakian. Colour me surprised but I get the impression that these guys are real devotees of the genre and if NWOBHM or, as it is now increasingly becoming these days, New Wave Of Traditional Heavy Metal is your scene then these 4-tracks make for a near perfect 20-minutes of traditional hard and furious heavy metal. Big praise to Jakob Rejec for his impeccable vocals and guitar, Urban Železnik’s guitar work too and the extremely hard working duo of Blaž Tanšek on bass and Toni Pleško on drums.
Give this one a whirl and I think you will be pleasantly surprised as well. NWOBHM or NWOTHM, it doesn’t matter what you call it as long as it is fast, furious and melodic. Wonderful rock from Slovakia, work is continuing on the full album and, based on this EP, it is going to be a blast.
