There has been a recent development from the Frontiers record label which has seen a number of the bands releasing live EPs with the footage also being made available on YouTube. The latest to get in on the act is the Swedish melodic rock band Creye which released its second album, simply entitled Creye II, earlier this year. Creye is another of those fully developed AOR bands that the Swedes seem to do so well and both releases have shown the band to be exponents of slick and melodic rock with a talent for writing immediately accessible songs and all delivered with the usual neat vocal harmonies and plenty of hooks to keep you entertained.

Creye II saw a couple of new members in the band plus a new vocalist in August Rauer and he has settled in perfectly well so that the transition within the band has been seamless. This EP is also a perfect chance to see the band performing live which was shot in the studio and we get the chance to see how well they have progressed over the last couple of years. The running time is a little over 20-minutes with a short intro leading into 5-tracks on which the band showcase their superb skills and all combine perfectly together. Rauer gives a masterclass in front of the microphone as he leads the band through a tight and thoroughly enjoyable, if short, set.

Great guitar work and a couple of backing singers give a real force to the band’s sound which features 4-tracks from the second album and a great version of Holding On which appeared on the first record. The music is only available on download or streaming and the video footage is also available on-line.
