Gadzooks – the planets have aligned at last and GONG’s new album ‘Unending Ascending’ has graced our universe! Here’s all that you need to know about the new record in celebration of it’s arrival today…

To celebrate the album’s release today GONG have unveiled a new, out of this world video, see below.

‘My Guitar Is A Spaceship’ was the first to be written for the new album as Kavus Torabi explains “The song came into being in the spring of 2022 and we actually debuted it on the Glade Stage at Glastonbury festival that summer. It was the first song we wrote for the new album. More than anything we’ve done together, it seemed to pop out fully formed. That morning none of it existed and then an hour later all of it did.”

He continues: “I don’t think we were even trying to write a tune at that point! What a feeling, we sort of couldn’t believe we came up with it. I said “Man, can you imagine debuting this song at Glastonbury festival?”. Sure enough, two days later we received a message asking us if we’d like to headline the Glade Stage that year. At this point the existence of magic is not even up for debate.

Angular guitars! Pointillistic horns! Cataclysmic words! With gods and monsters on their tail, Gong insist you take a trip on the kinetic mainline to experience the dissolution of both ego and sense of self through the universal vehicle of knotty psychedelic rock. The apocalypse never felt so good.

With a suitably cosmic video from long time live collaborator Fruit Salad Lights, ‘All Clocks Reset’ takes the mind, body and spirit into realms that only GONG can conjure.

And why not witness the madness up close and personal when GONG come through the UK later this month!
