About KALEO
Formed in Mosfellsbær in 2012, KALEO began as a trio of childhood friends — frontman Jökull “JJ” Júlíusson, drummer Davíð Antonsson, and bassist Daniel Kristjánsson — later joined by lead guitarist Rubin Pollock and harmonicist Þorleifur Gaukur Davíðsson. They began making waves on the festival scene in their home country before receiving a major record deal from Atlantic Records in 2015. Their name, Kaleo, meaning “the voice” in reflects the band’s soulful, gritty fusion of blues, folk, and rock.
