A good friend of mine has constantly raved about the strength of music coming out of Poland and a goodly portion of his income seems to head eastwards every month. This love of all things Polish began with the likes of Collage, Quidam, Satellite, SBB and these brilliant bands are as good a place as any to start your love affair with music from this country but, be warned, there are so many, many more.

So now we come to a relatively new band in Imaginature which actually formed in 2015 but it has taken until now for the debut album to see the light of day. Information on the band is quite difficult to come by but it seems that the catalyst for the band is Marcin their lead guitarist and he has put together an incredibly powerful and bombastic symphonic power metal band. Imagine a combination of Rhapsody Of Fire, Evergrey, Nightwish, Sonata Arctica and even Lazuli and you will have a feel of what this incredible new band is about with a heavy and heavenly mixture of riffs, searing lead guitar breaks, swathes of amazing keyboards and incredibly powerful drums and bass plus intoxicating whistles and pipes to give an added flavour of spine tingling Celtic tones, truly this album has the lot. Apparently some 14 musicians were involved with the band plus various guests from Sunrise, Pathfinder, Thermit and Moyra and you can see the songs they appear on at the end of the review. As far as I can see guitar is from Marcin, bass from Adam, drums form Krzysiek, keyboards form Leszek and pipes/whistles from Arek and vocal melodies are courtesy of Michal Lenarciak and Prince Tahra. All should be incredibly proud of this great and moving symphonic tour de force. Of course, the guest are also major contributors so you get both clean and dark vocals and thrilling soprano which are so moving and all combine perfectly. There really is so much happening here and you have plenty of incredible keyboards to savour plus great guitar breaks and hard hitting riffs against a huge choral background to make a cataclysmic metal that simply sweeps all before it.

Imaginature is a new name but they are destined to make a huge name in the power metal world and the band has truly set the bar very high for the second album and it will be interesting to watch how the band develops but you really need to get in at the beginning of what I am sure is going to be an incredible success story. The album is self released so it looks like there is no label involved which is incredible and any label looking to sign a new and exhilarating band should check Imaginature out immediately.

The music is consistently strong throughout the album and you simply have to press replay when the album finishes as this is one album that totally deserves becoming fully immersed in.
