KANDIA : ‘Quaternary’ – new album by Portuguese alternative metal act announced for release on 21 January 2022 via Frontiers

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the forthcoming release of Quaternary, the new album by Portuguese alternative metal act Kandia. Written and recorded with Daniel Cardoso of Anathema, it will be released on 21st January 2022, while the song Fight Or Flight is available now as a single. The second to be lifted from the record, it follows the recent The Flood, a lyric video for which can be seen below.

“Our new album definitely has our identity stamped on it, but we always like to experiment with new things,” the band explain. “The hard times we have all gone through recently have actually given us much inspiration and this record is filled with different emotions.”

Kandia create raw, melodic and sensual music that delivers a positive message while retaining an aggressive sound. The group was formed in 2007 by singer Nya Cruz and guitarist André Da Cruz. They decided to name their band Kandia – to obfuscate, to blind by light – as they felt it would represent the positivity they were keen to radiate. Influenced by progressive outfits such as A Perfect Circle, Tool, Porcupine Tree and Pink Floyd, as well as metal giants like Metallica and Pantera, they have found their own unique sound over the course of two full length albums released to date, both also produced by Cardoso. Now, with Quaternary, they are primed to spread their music to a global audience.
