FRENCH-IRISH ALT METAL PROSPECTS MOLYBARON UNLEASH FERAL TRACK ‘ANIMALS’ TO DECLARE NEW STUDIO ALBUM ‘THE MUTINY’
MOLYBARON – ‘THE MUTINY’ – COMING MAY 21ST 2021
MOLYBARON are a promising alternative metal prospect with roots in Ireland and France. They take their cues from the powerful melodic sounds that inspire them: from Alter Bridge, Mastodon, Therapy? and Clutch, through to Muse.
On May 21st 2021, MOLYBARON will release their second studio album, ‘The Mutiny’. A collection of 10 alternative metal tracks that will get your heart racing, feet stomping and have you yearning to be singing along at the front of one of their shows.
WHAT THE MEDIA SAYS ABOUT MOLYBARON
“This is loud and riffy, this is Lucifer” – Wyatt Wendels Planet Rock
“MOLYBARON, TOP 5 ALBUMS OF THE YEAR”— HARDFORCE Magazine
“This collection of ten songs quickly becomes as addictive as it is essential. Go get it!” – ROCKHARD MAGAZINE
“MOLYBARON recently created a surprise with a dense and beautiful first album. Sometimes dark, sometimes bright, always fascinating, this music seduces” ROCKHARD Magazine

To mark the album announcement, MOLYBARON have released a politically charged beast of a track, aptly named ‘ANIMALS’.
The opening track to MOLYBARON’s forthcoming sophomore album presents a confident and urgent entrance of frenetic riffmongery and epic soaring vocals with a traditional Irish twist.
Gary Kelly says this about the track
“Animals is a song about corporate greed, money in politics, perpetual war for profit, and the never ending deception of political parties, left and right. In the US, there is basically one party – the money party“
An emotive and urgent performance is given by frontman Gary Kelly, whose ascending and haunting vocals paint themselves effortlessly over the proficient, technical and groove-laden musicianship displayed by the other band members. If Therapy? And Mastodon were to have a lovechild, MOLYBARON would likely be the result.
The band’s three previous singles, Lucifer, Twenty Four Hours (feat. Whitfield Crane, Ugly Kid Joe) and Something For The Pain, have gained over 1.3 million streams on Spotify and can now be announced as a part of ‘The Mutiny’.
Gary Kelly speaks about the personal nature of the lyrical themes of the album, saying
“The theme of many of the lyrics in MOLYBARON’s debut album were highly influenced by the hysteria surrounding the 2016 US election and the corporate owned mainstream media fanning the flames. This time around I wanted to bring it closer to home and make the narrative easier to write about, so many of the lyrics are pretty personal to me, or people close to me. The overriding theme of the songs describe the uphill struggle to overcome mental health issues – depression, guilt, drug and alcohol use.“
“The challenge of evolving the music to the next level and finding our sound was extremely satisfying on the one hand, physically and emotionally exhausting on the other… but you cannot have one without the other. I’m very proud of it.“
MOLYBARON arrived on the scene in mid 2017, with the release of their eponymous debut album. On its release, the album was widely praised by critics. ‘RockHard’ magazine named MOLYBARON ‘Best Discovery Act of 2017’.
In a short time, the band have played many notable concerts, including the legendary Elysée Montmartre in Paris, Metal Days Festival, Slovenia and a thirteen date European tour with A Pale Horse Named Death (ex Type O Negative) in late 2019.
