Scar For Life is a Portuguese hard rock formed in 2008 by the guitarist Alexandre Santos with Sociophobia being the group’s 5th album. Santos is the only remaining original member and it appears that he has been more than happy to change personnel in search of the sound that he is looking for. The current team features regular vocalist Rob Mancini and bassist Marc Lynn (Gotthard) with guest appearances from drummer Tobbe Jonsson (The Lightbringer Of Sweden) and keyboards from Darrel Treece-Birch (Ten) and these follow a long line of regular guests including Ged Rylands and Neil Fraser (Ten), Neil Murray (Whitesnake) and Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath, Dio).

The music is on the melodic side of hard rock with plenty of hooks and harmonies to keep you interested in what is happening whilst Mancini entertains with his whisky infused vocals. Santos serves up some delicious riffs and is a pretty mean rhythm guitarists who is more than happy to allow the musicians around him to flourish but still lays down some neat solos as well as some great interplay between him and the keyboards of Treece-Birch. It’s been 8-years since the release of the last album Worlds Entwined in 2014 which will ensure that there will be a great deal of interest in this record.
