Electronic-rock artist and producer The Anix is rereleasing his 2008 remastered Electronic Rock album Demolition City. The album includes notable singles such as This Game the first of the remastered re-release of his 2008 album Demolition City from independent record label FiXT.
“This Game is an electronic rock single fusing synthesizers, upbeat rhythms, heavy guitars, and bass with thoughtful lyrics and a masterful vocal performance for an overall emotional soundscape illustrating the acknowledgment of a dying relationship.
“For the re-mastered version of DEMOLITION CITY, I wanted to turbo charge one of the most popular songs on the album, This Game states The Anix. “This was always our biggest song when we were on tour and an underground favorite within the fans. I didn’t want to completely redo the song, but I wanted to capture more of the style that the original demo was written in, which was also the way we performed it live. More electronics/programming and vocoder has been added to the track using the original demo file archives, then we remastered the track to balance the new added parts and lead the re-release of the album.”
This Game is out now from independent multi-genre music label FiXT
The Anix is an electronic-rock artist and producer from Los Angeles. As an active designer and producer, influences get pulled for an array of unusual places, such as brutalist architecture, Berlin technical apparel brand Acronym, underground techno and house scenes, and movies such as Blade Runner and 2001: A Space Odyssey. The result is a genre-defying mix of alternative rock elements with dark melancholic undertones drenched in an endless array of synthesizers, with a bass heavy foundation to anchor the overall sound. It is neither retro nor futurist, but somewhere in between, from the not so distant future. The sound has been referred to as “Night Rock” and “Alternative Electro”, with elements that connect inspiration to The Cure, Depeche Mode, NIN, The Smashing Pumpkins, Moderat, Failure, Jon Hopkins, and The Prodigy.
In 2018, The Anix completed their metamorphosis from band to solo project as front-man & songwriter Smith signed with FiXT, the artist-owned/operated independent record label of electronic-rock pioneer Klayton (Celldweller, Circle of Dust). Focusing on releasing consistent material since signing with FiXT, The Anix released the full-length album Shadow_Movement in 2018, Order / Disorder and Hologram in 2019, GRAPHITE in 2020, and REVENGE in early 2022.
