Watch the official music video for the new single “Now and Never” on YouTube below. The video was filmed and edited by Gokul Chakravarthy (Uktopia Creations) over the course of a day in Washington, DC, where the band played at The Hamilton Live just steps away from the White House.
The song comes two weeks ahead of Bywater Call’s second Headline UK Tour which starts Wednesday October 16th and covers 11 cities. Tickets are available at www.bywatercall.com
The tour includes Planet Rock’s “Blues Power LIVE” event at Dingwall’s in London’s Camden Market on Friday October 25th. Hosted and curated by blues maestro Bernard Doherty, the show will also feature performances from Bywater Call’s UK tour support band Lauren Housley and the Northern Cowboys and These Wicked Rivers.
“A soundscape so epic and electric, it ignited – causing hairs to prickle on the backs of people’s necks. …there was no sense of time or place – just the dream that is good music… there is everything to like about this band.”
– My Global Mind
“Bywater Call’s gig was a masterclass in live performance. Their musicality, stage presence, and ability to connect with the audience set them apart as a truly exceptional band.” – Jace Music Media
“Now and Never” is a fun take on dysfunctional romantic relationships … those ones where you just keep running in circles and seem to just exist “Always, Now and Never” all at the same time. “This song features some top-notch horn moments” says lead singer Meghan Parnell. “It’s quirky and sexy and celebratory all at once.”
Often transcending genres, Bywater Call is known for their dynamic, emotional live shows, featuring powerful vocals and exciting interplay between all band members.
Bywater Call were UK Blues Award nominated for International Blues Artist of the year alongside winners Larkin Poe. They have toured extensively in Europe where shows have been praised by media, with references to Meghan as one of the best female voices in blues and roots today.
The band has been busy. In 2024 alone, the band will have played their 100th show of the year in Belgium, on the first date of their upcoming European tour. In 2023 Bywater Call played Joe Bonamassa’s third Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea Mediterranean Cruise and in 2025 the band will once again board to play the KTBA cruise, this time in March out of Miami, Florida.
Their new album, Shepherd, has garnered positive attention from fans and media alike. It is available on all streaming platforms, with CDs and vinyl available to purchase at www.bywatercall.com
“Shepherd’s blend of rock’n’roll, blues and Southern soul is infectious.” – R’N’R
“Imagine this: it’s Mardi Gras Night in heaven. The band assembles on stage. There is Otis Redding, Janis Joplin, Lowell George, Sly Stone, Dr. John, Robbie Robertson and The Memphis Horns. This is what Bywater Call sounds like on their third album.” – Bluestown Music
“Everything about this album oozes class… It’s the sort of record and the kind of music you don’t think people make anymore, and you miss it … It’s nothing short of superb.” – Fireworks

ABOUT BYWATER CALL
Bywater Call is a powerhouse seven-piece Southern soul, roots rock band from Toronto, Canada. The band is comprised of Meghan Parnell (vocals), Dave Barnes (guitar), Bruce McCarthy (drums), Mike Meusel (bass), newest member, John Kervin (keys), Stephen Dyte (trumpet) and Julian Nalli (tenor sax).
Bywater is currently UK Blues Award nominated for International Blues Artist of the year. They have toured extensively in Europe where shows have been praised by Dutch, German and UK media, with references to Meghan as one of the best female voices in blues and roots today.
In August 2023, the band participated in Joe Bonamassa’s third Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea Mediterranean Cruise alongside headliners Blackberry Smoke and Christone “Kingfish” Ingram and were invited to perform at the All-Star Jam on the mainstage with Bonamassa himself. Guitarist Dave Barnes was also asked to join legendary blues artist Jimmy Vivino (Conan O’Brien’s Basic Cable Band) on stage.
Bywater Call have commanded festival stages in Canada and around the world, often referred to as the “find of the fest.” In May of 2023, they opened for Canadian award-winning band Whitehorse at the inaugural Smokestack Music Festival in Hamilton, Ontario. In July, Meghan joined renowned pedal-steel guitarist Robert Randolph on stage at his request, at the Briggs Farm Festival in Nescopeck, PA. On October 24, 2023, Bywater performed a live stream concert for the German TV show & festival Rockpalast.
The band’s music is an exploration of life’s highs and lows. From intimate ballads that lay bare the complexities of human emotion to electrifying anthems that demand to be played at full volume, their catalogue is a journey through the human experience, featuring influences from the likes of The Band, The Wood Brothers, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Otis Redding, Little Feat, Sly and the Family Stone, and many more. others.
