Between Worlds is another project put together by Frontiers and I suppose that if you have the musicians available then you really ought to use them. Luckily, the label has a very high quality control policy which ensures that all of the projects are viable and offer music that is exciting, fresh and which has a marketable demand.

This new work features the outstanding vocal talents of the American singer Ronnie Munroe ex of the behemoth that is the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Metal Church and Presto Ballet as well as having his own solo career. Of course, this being Frontiers then Alessandro Del Vecchio has to be involved and if there is a harder working man in rock then I need to know his name and fast! Del Vecchio plays the keyboards and both he and Munroe both wrote and produced the album. Lead guitar is courtesy of Jack Frost of Seven Witches with rhythm guitar from Pete Alpenborg, bass from Alex Jansen and Michele Sanna on drums. Of course, if you are Ronny Munroe then you will have made some very useful contacts over the years and he has called in a few favours with John Lee Middleton (TSO) playing bass on No Escape, Joel Hoekstra (Whitesnake) on lead guitar on Soul Chaser and Chris Caffery (TSO, Savatage) on lead guitar on Scent Of An Angel and No Escape. You only need to look at the names to see that this is an American hard rock/power metal album with lots of amazing guitar and a real classic rock vocal performance from the imperious Ronny Munroe, a singer with a thrilling and most expressive voice.

The album is a real delight being a most cultured work of hard yet melodic rock tracks which showcase the prowess of Munroe to great effect plus, as ever, there are a couple of heartfelt ballads at which he also excels. The album is definitely of interest to Savatage and Metal Church fans but anyone with a love of rock music will find much here to enjoy and cherish. Munroe took a break from the rock business but is now back and eager for more with Between Worlds being an excellent vehicle for him to announce to the rock community that he is at the peak of his powers with a voice that thrills to the core. His band is exceptional which is no surprise given their pedigree and the guests are the icing on the cake making what was already an exceptional album even better.

Fabulous songs, searing guitar plus a powerful and commanding vocal performance from a real star helps to make Between Worlds a must have album and one to savour.
