VELVET THUNDER

Currently receiving rave notices for their brand new studio album The Symbol Remains, Blue Öyster Cult and Frontiers Music Srl continue their release of archival treasures from the band’s vaults with the 4th December 2020 release of two live albums: Live At Rock Of Ages Festival 2016 and a reissue of 2002’s A Long Day’s Night. Both will be available on CD+DVD, Blu-Ray, LP and digital formats.

BÖC performed an inspired set on the second day of the Rock of Ages Festival 2016 in Seebronn, Germany. One of the band’s few appearances on German soil in recent years, they ripped through a memorable setlist that kicked off with This Ain’t The Summer Of Love and closed with the evergreen hit (Don’t Fear) The Reaper. In between, they delivered hot takes on gems such as Burnin’ For You, Golden Age Of Leather, Then Came The Last Days Of May and Godzilla.

An out of print live release, A Long Day’s Night was recorded on 21st June 2002 at the Navy Pier/Skyline Stage in Chicago. Taking place on the summer solstice (hence its title), it celebrated three decades of incredible music from the band to that point. Over the course of two hours, guitarist/vocalists Eric Bloom and Buck Dharma, keyboardist/guitarist Allen Lanier and their bandmates regaled a revved-up crowd with ‘Cult classics. Aside from over two hours of concert footage, the reissue includes rare interview footage, behind the scenes coverage, fan interviews, biographical and discography information. The audio on all formats has been completely restored and remastered to achieve a stunning new listening experience.

These releases arrive hot on the heels of BÖC‘s well received new studio album, The Symbol Remains, which has been embraced by fans and critics alike. Videos for the four singles are That Was Me, Box In My Head, Tainted Blood and The Alchemist.
